BC Hydro is putting in new LED road lights in West Kelowna over the following 2 weeks

The replacement of 462 high pressure sodium street lights in West Kelowna will begin next week.

Starting Tuesday, BC Hydro’s crews will begin replacing the old street lights on their wooden power poles with brand new LED lights.

The utility company said the replacement will take up to two weeks.

According to BC Hydro, replacing each traffic light will take around half an hour, and the work will only require brief single-lane road closures at some locations.

“Drivers (should) maintain safe speeds, respect the crews and kindly follow the instructions of the traffic controllers in all cone zones,” says a press release from the City of West Kelowna.
