Bear noticed passing via Kelowna. wanders

A bear caused a stir in Kelowna after climbing over a fence and crossing a street in a busy part of town.

The black bear was spotted along Baron Road late Tuesday.

Rob Wallace captured the animal from his balcony as it navigated the urban environment.

His sister Michelle Wallace then posted the video to warn residents that they might have an unexpectedly wild encounter while strolling around town.

Another resident also posted pictures of a bear in the same area, although it is not known if it was the same animal that Wallace recorded.

Black bears are relatively common in Kelowna, with Mission Creek Regional Park – just south of Baron Road – and nearby Scenic Canyon Regional Park being particular hotspots for sightings.
