Ciccozzi Architects chosen for the following section of Kelowna’s growth
KELOWNA, BC – Ciccozzi Architects have been announced as the architect for Water Street by the Park, a massive, multi-tower facility planned for Kelowna.
It’s not the company’s first outing in Kelowna. Three decades before they designed the Manteo Resort Waterfront Hotel.
Orchard Park Properties co-founder Anthony Beyrouti envisioned Water Street by the Park and hired HDR Architecture Associates and architect Robert Cesnik to lead the concept and design phase of the project. After securing planning permission for the project earlier this year, Beyrouti has now reached out to Ciccozzi Architecture, who will guide the project drawings through further design development and begin consultant coordination to prepare drawings for the building permit application later this year.
“Our vision with Water Street by the Park is to create something that the city of Kelowna and the Okanagan will be proud of, and to create a unique set of towers and houses that reflect the beauty and vibrancy of the city and region “Beyrouti said in a press release. “The history of Ciccozzi Architecture in Kelowna goes back 30 years. They know how much life on the lake improves mental health and quality of life, and like us they know that securing a lake property of this size and quality is becoming increasingly rare. “
Vancouver-based Ciccozzi Architecture was founded by Robert Ciccozzi and is an award-winning full-service architecture firm specializing in residential and commercial design. In addition to working on projects on the Lower Mainland, Sunshine Coast and Okanagan, the company has also completed international work in the US, Mexico, Japan, Singapore and China.
“We look forward to working with Orchard Park Properties on such an important development for Kelowna,” said Robert Ciccozzi. “The location of Water Street by the Park, the striking height of 42 floors, the incredible view and the use of solid wood are all very exciting elements for us as architects. We also welcome the opportunity to further define an incredible project in a city whose idyllic lifestyle has captured the imaginations of home buyers across Canada. “
The company now has the task of completing the concept design, the structural, mechanical and electrical systems as well as the code requirements and of further developing and designing all floor plan layouts, including parking garage, individual area plans, leisure areas and commercial areas.
Once the building permit is approved, the company will provide the detailed drawings and will continue to coordinate with the team of consultants to issue drawings for the tender, followed by the issuing of construction documents. After the start of construction, Ciccozzi takes over the contract management up to the final occupancy of all buildings.
