Energy restored to almost 3,500 BC Hydro prospects in West Kelowna

(UPDATE: Dec. 6 @ 11:35 am) – Power has been restored in West Kelowna.

Nearly 3,500 BC Hydro customers southwest of Mount Boucherie lost power shortly before 10 am.

It was restored around 11:30 am.

The cause of the outage remains under investigation.

(Original story: Dec. 6 @ 10:10 am) – BC Hydro is dealing with a significant power outage in West Kelowna.

Nearly 3,500 customers are currently without power southwest of Mount Boucherie.

<p dir=Homes and businesses between Hwy 97 and Okanagan Lake are affected, with the outage spanning from Gellatly Road in the west to Quails’ Gate Winery in the east.

Power has been off since shortly before 10 am and BC Hydro has assigned a crew to tackle the issue.

What that issue is, however, remains under investigation.
