Household sued Kwik Store for promoting alcohol to an Kelowna teenager who died in an accident

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The family of a teenage boy killed in a drunk driver accident in 2018 is suing the gas station for selling alcohol to minors.

17-year-old George Gervase was racing near Roads 192nd and Pacific when he lost control of a utility pole and a tree. He died on the scene.

The Gervase family said Kwik Shop employee Kevin Hart negligently sold alcohol to someone who appeared to be a minor and did not ask for ID. They say Kwik Shop had a duty to supervise its employees, but allowed Hart to repeatedly sell alcohol to minors.

The family is demanding more than $ 11,000 for damage, including funeral expenses.

A judge takes the matter under deliberation.
