Kelowna’s first BC hashish retailer opens this week
British Columbia’s 30th state cannabis store will open in Kelowna on Wednesday.
It is Kelowna’s first cannabis store in BC and is located in the Dilworth Shopping Center.
“We look forward to expanding our presence in the Okanagan Valley and serving our customers in the Kelowna community,” said Kevin Satterfield, director of cannabis retail operations for the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB).
The 2,644 square meter store will be staffed by four full-time and six assistants and will offer an assortment.
These include edibles, extracts, topicals, dried cannabis flowers, oils, capsules and pre-rolls, the LDB explained.
Anyone under the age of 30 will have a strict policy of verifying two IDs to keep cannabis out of the hands of young people.
Of course, all COVID-related orders and guidelines of the state health officer (PHO) will be available in the store when it opens on Wednesday, including a mask requirement.
BC Cannabis Stores are operated by LDB, the only wholesaler and public retailer of non-medicinal cannabis in BC.
