Lake Life Lottery elevating cash for native healthcare – Kelowna Information
Lotto raises healthcare funds
While home ownership in the Okanagan may feel like a dream to some, it is a dream that could come true with the purchase of a lottery ticket.
People gathered at Kelowna General Hospital on Tuesday to celebrate the Lake Life Lottery, which offers the chance to win a $1.75 million dream home in Lake Country while supporting the KGH Foundation and the Southern Interior YMCA in their push for better healthcare.
“Proceeds from your tickets go to support both organizations in our aligned missions of raising the level of healthcare in our community and the overall health and wellness of everyone living in this community,” said Allison Ramchuk, CEO of the KGH Foundation.
To raise awareness of the lottery a handful of well-known residents, including Mayor Colin Basran, volunteered to take the plunge inside the dunk tank, kicking off the inaugural fundraiser.
“Any time we can help raise funds for two incredible organizations in our community I am totally game, so I was the first victim in the dunk tank and I can tell you it was very chilled in there but certainly worthwhile,” said Basran.
Along with the chance to win your dream home, the Lake Life Lottery also gives people the opportunity to win other big prizes, all of which are very well suited for that Okanagan lifestyle.
“We’ve got cars, we’ve got boats, we’ve got trips. You know, it’s expansive and it really speaks to the lifestyle in the Okanagan. It’s about getting outdoors, experiencing the natural environment, the water, the waves, you name it. Every prize we have gives people opportunities to really experience and live life to the fullest,” said Allyson Graf, CEO of YMCA Southern Interior.
You can purchase your tickets online at the Lake Life Lottery website. Cut-off to purchase your ticket is in early November with the grand prize winner being announced some time in December.
