Metropolis of Kelowna looking for public enter on way forward for Knox Mountain Drive

Knox Mountain Park is one of the most popular outdoor spots in Kelowna, which means there are surely a lot of opinions on its future use.

The City of Kelowna is hoping to hear those opinions, which is why they’ve opened a survey on the future use of Knox Mountain Drive for the public to complete.

You have until Monday, May 31 at 8 am to fill out the survey, which will enter you in a draw to win one of three local gift cards valued at $150, $100 and $50.

<p dir=“The City is considering whether vehicles should be permitted on the roadway and, if so, under what conditions,” explained a City release.

“Survey responses will be combined with safety analysis, technical road standards, current park usage data and other factors to make a final recommendation to council by early summer.”

At the moment, Knox Mountain Drive remains closed to vehicle traffic due to COVID-19.

“The review of Knox Mountain Drive is also one part of a larger project to develop an update to the Knox Mountain Park Management Plan, which will continue through 2021 and guide the park’s management over the next 10 years,” added the release.

“It will include a comprehensive review of the park’s ecological status and amenities, and a work plan to guide the park through the next decade.”
