Conservative leadership race frontrunner Pierre Poilievre is making a pair stops in the Okanagan Valley next weekend.
The Ottawa-area MP will be at the Sunset Ranch Golf Club on Saturday, April 9 at 2:30 p.m.
He will then be at Vernon’s Schubert Centre later that day at 7 p.m.
Both meet-and-greet events are free with an online RSVP.
Poilievre has the backing of both Central Okanagan federal representatives, Dan Albas and Tracy Gray.
He is running up against Patrick Brown, Jean Charest, Leslyn Lewis, Scott Aitchison and Roman Baber.
Poilievre has been a strong supporter of the freedom convoy movement across Canada and has been drawing large crowds at his campaign events.
He has said he will end overseas oil imports, defund the CBC, scrap the federal carbon tax, end the Northern BC oil tanker moratorium and roll back the Trudeau government’s 2019 overhaul of environmental laws.
The party will pick its new leader on Sept.10, 2022.
