Primarily sunny day forward for Kelowna with excessive warmth on the way in which

If you have some work to do in the garden or any other chores outdoors, you may want to get them done today.

Today will be another hot, sunny summer day in the Okanagan, but it pales in comparison to what we’ll see starting Friday.

“We are going to see mainly sunny conditions again today,” said Wesla English, NowMedia meteorologist.

“Although a few clouds will linger this morning, we will be back to a stable weather pattern this afternoon.”

Kelowna is looking at a high in the low 30s today before it ramps up to what English says could be “near-record-breaking heat this weekend.”

It will jump up into the mid 30s on Friday before starting to push 40°C on Sunday and into next week.

Needless to say, you’ll want to keep the sunscreen handy for the next while.

Have an amazing Thursday, Kelowna, we’re inching closer towards one of the hottest weekends you’ll ever experience in the Central Okanagan!
