Purpose is to make new signature occasion ‘Kelowna Made’ a 10-day competition by 2027
More details continue to be released regarding Kelowna’s new signature event.
We now know the first ever ‘Kelowna Made’ will be held in City Park on Saturday, Aug. 27 and it will feature activities like:
- Pancake Breakfast
- Sandcastle Competition
- sports demo
- live music
- street dance
- Additional programming and activities to be announced
While there is plenty to look forward to with the inaugural ‘Kelowna Made’ in August, the future of the new event is what will pique the interest of many.
It’s anticipated that the one-day celebration this summer will become a full weekend of programming by 2023 and it won’t stop growing there.
The expectation is that Kelowna Made will be a 10-day festival by 2027.
A signature event here in Kelowna will give locals something new to be proud of and an opportunity to honor our identity, history and culture,” said Sarah Semeniuk, event services coordinator for the City of Kelowna.
“Decades from now, we want people to look back and say that they were at the first-ever Kelowna Made and that it was the start of something special.”
Planning for this year’s event is ongoing and organizers said more details will be revealed in the weeks ahead.
For now, those interested in learning more or volunteering during the inaugural festival can visit the Kelowna Made website.
