UPDATE 7:00 p.m.
COSAR and RCMP continue to search for a missing person along Mission Creek near Pasadena Rd. in Rutland.
Duane Tresnich, COSAR manager tells Castanet the search is continuing into the evening and they will continue to search until they lose the light, “that’s our intention, we’ll go until it’s not safe for us to keep looking.”
Rescuers received information that a person has gone missing in the area and is known to walk along the creek’s edge near Pasadena Rd., that person has not been heard from as of 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.
UPDATE 4:30 p.m.
Kelowna RCMP tell Castanet they received a report of a possible missing person in the area of Mission Creek Tuesday afternoon.
RCMP are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and are in the process of confirming more details.
“Out of an abundance of caution, COSAR and RCMP Air Services were activated and they assisted in searching the area,” states RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Tammy Lobb.
Duane Tresnich, COSAR manager tells Castanet that they received information that a person has parked their vehicle in the area and is known to walk along the creek and that person has not been heard from.
A drone and a helicopter have been deployed to continue the search.

Search and rescue crews have gathered at Pasadena Rd. in the Rutland area of Kelowna and are reportedly searching for someone who may have gotten swept away by the fast-moving water.
Rescue crews are setting up a drone in what appears to be an attempt to begin an aerial search.
