Regional District closes Kelowna workplace however will proceed important companies

The Regional District of Central Okanagan is suspending its in-person services in Kelowna from 1 pm today.

But staff wanted to reassure residents that they will not be stopping essential services during the COVID-19 crisis.

The Regional Board meeting scheduled for Monday at 7 pm, meanwhile, will still be going ahead – but with social distancing measures in place.

<p dir=Directors will be considering the adoption of the 2020–24 financial plan.

Services they will continue to provide include:

  • Curbside garbage and recycling

  • Solid waste transfer stations (North Westside, Traders Cove, Westside Residential Waste Disposal and Recycling Centre)

  • Water systems (Falcon Ridge, Killiney Beach, Upper Fintry-Shalal Rd.-Valley of the Sun, Sunset Ranch, Trepanier/Star Place, Westshore Estates)

  • Fire services (Ellison, Joe Rich, North Westside, Wilson’s Landing)

  • Dog Control and Regional Dog Pound

  • Westside Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant and RDCO sewer collection system

They are cancelling the following Regional Waste Reduction Office events:
