It seems Kelownians have a slight obsession with miso soup, butter chicken and California sushi rolls.

That is, according to Skip The Dishes, which has listed Kelowna’s food delivery cravings for 2019.

Nearly 11,500 rounds of miso soup were ordered this year, making it the most ordered item. With that much soup, you’d be able to fill a Rockets game at Prospera Place with a bowl on every seat.

Butter chicken came in a close second with 10,500 orders, followed by 8,400 orders of California rolls. That means Kelowna’s sushi lovers consumed more than 67,000 individual pieces.

Comparatively, the top three most ordered items in Canada were butter chicken, poutine, and dynamite rolls.

Kelowna’s biggest order was a whopping $582, which included seven baked pies, seven rotisserie chickens and numerous sides.

The most frequent user ordered Skip The Dishes a total of 416 times, which averages out to more than an order a day from Jan. 1 till now.

More than 120 restaurants in Kelowna are signed up to the Skip The Dishes service.
