Small Store Saturday to hit Kelowna this weekend

Looking for an excuse to hit the town this weekend? Well, Saturday is the perfect time to take a stroll in Kelowna’s downtown core.

On Saturday, the Downtown Kelowna Association (DKA) is excited to announce the return of Small Shop Saturday.

A celebration of local entrepreneurs and small businesses who have been working tirelessly over the past two years to serve the people of Kelowna.

Participating downtown shops will be easy to identify with large “Small Shop – Support Local” window decals and they’ll be offering special incentives, in-store promotions, or one-day sales from 10 am-6 pm.

“Supporting local businesses is more important now than ever before,” says DKA Executive Director, Mark Burley.

“As we continue to recover from the last two years, we’re happy to once again present Small Shop Saturday this weekend. Enjoy walking outside in the fresh air and visiting businesses throughout Downtown Kelowna as you do so.”

While there are special incentives on the line, the entire idea behind Small Shop Saturday is to focus on how much small truly businesses contribute to the regional economy.

Those checking out all the fun downtown also have the opportunity to win one of four grand prizes from a number of local businesses. Contest details can be found here.

To top it off, downtown will be offering free on-street and in city-owned parking lots and parkades, from 10 am to 6 pm
