The Cove in West Kelowna ranked within the prime 10% of lodges on the planet

These awards are so much cuter because they arrived in the middle of a pandemic.

This week, the Cove Lakeside Resort in West Kelowna, with its 150 suites, received a Travelers’ Choice Award from Tripadvisor for being one of the top 10% hotels in the world, as well as a VIP Access Award loved by Hotels.com.

Tripadvisor is the world’s largest travel platform and The Cove’s price is based on enthusiastic customer reviews on Tripadvisor over the past 12 months.

Hotels.com is part of the booking empire that includes 325,000 hotels around the world, and The Cove’s recognition there is also based on high guest reviews.

“As challenging as the year with COVID was, The Cove stood out for its continued enthusiasm for travelers,” said the press release that announced the prizes.

The Cove has a stunning location on the shores of Okanagan Lake with a four-story, horseshoe-shaped resort to offer as many suites as possible over the water.

The horseshoe also creates a massive courtyard for two pools, beach, marina, and water sports rentals.

There is also a spa and a new restaurant called The Landing Kitchen + Bar.

While the Cove is large and has all the amenities, it prides itself on its boutique style hospitality.

But to dispel an old stereotype, The Cove turned around.

“Based on a year full of customer reviews, this award speaks for the great service and experience you have provided your guests in the midst of a pandemic,” said Kanika Soni of Tripadvisor.

“What impressed me is how companies have adapted to these challenges, implementing new cleanliness measures, adding social distancing guidelines, and using technology to prioritize guest safety.”
