Environment Canada says thunderstorms are possible across the Okanagan on Wednesday.

Wednesday will see the lowest temperature of the week at 27 C, with a 60 per cent chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon.

“We have seen temperatures some down from the extreme heat that we had. We still have that heat warning in effect mostly because we have been having warm conditions overnight,” said Environment Canada’s Alyssa Charbonneau.

Local precipitation from the thunderstorms could reach 10 millimetres.

“Thursday there is also a slight risk of a thunderstorm as well. The rain will be scattered showers.”

“Unfortunately the rain won’t be that wide spread, which I know people were hoping for. This will also come with lightening and potentially winds too,” Charbonneau added.
