UPDATE: 9:23 p.m.

A Water Quality Advisory has been issued for Sonoma Pines and the Lakeview Ridge apartment development due to the water main break in the area.

WFN Utilities crews are working to find the location of the break and repair the line but residents in the area will need to boil their water until the water samples return on Saturday.

The roundabout at Carrington and Butt Roads and Sonoma Pines Drive will be closed until repairs to the road are completed.

ORIGINAL: 5:49 p.m.

Westbank First Nation utility crews are dealing with a large water main break on Carrington Road.

The break at the intersection of Carrington and Butt roads and Sonoma Pines Drive caused “excessive water” to flow down the roadway. WFN is asking drivers to avoid the area.

While water is no longer flooding the roadway, the break has resulted in a significant sinkhole on the roadway.

A new traffic circle was recently installed at the intersection where the incident has occurred.
