Water quality advisory lifted

A swimming and beach water quality advisory that’s been in place since July 4 has now been removed for Reiswig Regional Park on Lake Country’s Wood Lake.
Water tests were run and the Regional District of Central Okanagan says the results are again acceptable within the guidelines of Canadian Recreational Water Quality, opening the area for swimming at the waterfront park.
The RDCO collects water samples each year from several beaches to further test and analyze as beach water quality often fluctuates because of lake currents, runoff, outflow of creeks, changing environmental factors and waterfowl and animal waste.
Warmer temperatures and a high swim count of people in the summer often leads to poor water quality.
