West Kelowna crews reply to in a single day fireplace
(UPDATE: Jan. 23 @ 10:45 am) – West Kelowna Fire Rescue has completed its investigation into the cause of an overnight fire on Gellatly Road.
“The fire appears to have originated in a vehicle parked on the driveway in close proximity to the garage,” explained Fire Chief Jason Brolund.
“There were not any sources of heat or ignition found in the area of origin of the fire. Therefore, the cause of the fire is undetermined.”
The file has been passed on to the RCMP to continue any further investigate avenues.
(Original story: Jan. 23 @ 6:10 am) – West Kelowna Fire Rescue got the earliest possible start of the week.
Crews were called out to Gellatly Road around 1 am for a vehicle fire that had spread to the neighboring garage.
With support from crews from the Lakeview, Glenrosa and Rose Valley stations, the fire was quickly knocked down.
“Crews contended with multiple compressed gas cylinders and power lines present in the area of the fire,” explained Fire Chief Jason Brolund.
The quick action from firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to any neighboring homes. There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
