After years of requests from fans, a West Kelowna country musician decided this was the right year to release two holiday tunes.

Ben Klick, who splits his time between B.C. and Nashville, Tennessee, said in the last few years fans have been asking him to write songs for the holiday season.

In March, while in Nashville, he collaborated with friends and fellow musicians Tim Taylor and Rhett McDaniel to release Bahumbuggin’ and The Christmas Country Shuffle, both singles, in the next few weeks.

Bahumbuggin’ will be released Nov. 15, with McDaniel. It’s a tongue-in-check positive twist on Ebenezer Scrooge, while The Christmas Country Shuffle, launching Dec. 1, with Taylor is more of a “heart felt” Christmas song people can dance to.

Klick said he enjoys all the holidays but Christmas is especially special as it’s time to spend with friends and family.

He remembered one year in 2018 he spent without them and it wasn’t the same. “There’s nothing like being with friends and family when it comes to the holidays,” he said.

You can find the singles on all streaming platforms or watch Klick perform live Nov. 25 at the Summerland Light Up, Nov. 29 at Red Bird Brewing in Kelowna, Dec. 1 at Crown and Thieves in West Kelowna and Dec. 17 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Revelstoke.

You can also see him on TV on the W Network as he’s been featured in the hallmark holiday movie Time For Them To Come Home For Christmas that first aired last year and is running again for the holiday season.

He called it “one of the weirdest” experiences he’s had, miming a track while the cameras roll to no music.

More information on show times can be found on Klick’s website here.
